Introduction

Hi everyone,

In the last few years as a way of working my way out of being stuck writing academic stuff, I have written any number of pieces about music I listen to. Some of these pieces I have submitted to various places, others not. Nothing has been formally published so I thought I would put these little missives out there for your reading pleasure.

The first one is my latest piece, written during the days I didn't feel like working on the introduction to my book. I wrote it in Berlin and it reflects both what I was listening to (Brian Eno's most recent album the Ship) and what I was thinking about (migration, war, refugees, biopolitics).
